A few days ago, a friend was defending the capital punishment and was saying "as most of the world believe, an eye for an eye". Then I read this sentence :

An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.

Mahatma Gandhi

Dear Dr. Safakish
To answer this blog's question, No sir I would not want to live in a world that is blind. Although I never looked at the argument against Capital Punishment in terms of 'an eye for an eye' , even though I am absolutely against it. My reasoning for feeling this way is because, I have always felt that men do not have the right to decide when one dies, by judgement. I believe that only God can judge a person that severely.
Warm Regards,
Jessie
